One of my favorite projects done during my time at ASU was redesigning U.S. currency to a new theme of our choice. I chose to feature the country’s official symbols found in nature, such as the national tree, flower, and fish. In this project, we had to include all of the official marks that a real dollar would have, as well as security features. I incorporated texture into my design as the security mark, and added this element after printing to highlight the surface of the front left material on the bill. On the back side, I wanted to feature real places in the U.S. where you can find the symbol that the bill showcases.
